Detailed 5 Day Tanzania Private Safari Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport a Hazina Afrika visa specialist will greet you in the Arrivals area and assist you with obtaining your tourist visa (visa fee is included), help collect your luggage and accompany you through customs and escort you to a Hazina transfer representative who will be waiting outside the secured area to warmly welcome you to Tanzania. The road transfer to your hotel in Arusha will be approximately one hour. After check-in, your transfer rep will brief you on the following day’s schedule, review a safari safety check list and answer any questions you may have. Dinner and overnight at the lovely African Tulip Hotel.
Day 2
Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast at The African Tulip Hotel, your driver guide will transfer you to Lake Manyara National Park, about 2 hours away. Spend the day game driving through the lush groundwater forest, home to abundant birdlife, baboons, and other primates. Lake Manyara is also known for its tree-climbing lions, though sightings are rarer due to the dense forest. Optional cultural activities include visiting the nearby Mto wa Mbu village, exploring banana farms, local markets, and village life. In the late afternoon, depart for Karatu town. Enjoy dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Farm Lodge, nestled on the Ngorongoro Highlands' foothills.
Day 3 & 4
Game Drive at Central serengeti
After breakfast at Endoro Lodge, depart for the renowned Serengeti National Park. While your guide handles paperwork at Naabi Hill Gate, take a short walk up Naabi Hill for stunning views of the vast plains, from which Serengeti derives its name. As you journey through the Central Serengeti, explore kopjes—granite outcroppings that shelter a variety of wildlife, including lions. Spend the late afternoon game driving in the Seronera Valley, a rich wildlife haven where the plains meet the woodlands, creating a diverse ecological zone. Enjoy two nights at Serengeti Serena Lodge, immersing yourself in the heart of the Serengeti.
Day 5
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Start your day with a 6am game drive into the Ngorongoro Crater to avoid the midday crowds. This is your best chance to spot the endangered black rhino, so keep your binoculars ready. Enjoy a picnic breakfast as you watch the African sunrise, then spend the day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, often called "Africa’s Garden of Eden." With its dense concentration of wildlife in a compact area, it offers excellent game viewing and photography opportunities. In the afternoon, depart for Arusha, where you’ll have a day room at The African Tulip Boutique Hotel and an early dinner before your transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight.
