Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 • Arusha to Tarangire
Meet your private guide in Arusha and fly or drive to Tarangire, known for ancient baobabs and large elephant herds. Settle into your lodge and enjoy an afternoon game drive with sundowners on the river terrace.
Wildlife often includes elephants, buffalo, zebra, giraffe and a variety of antelope. Night sounds carry across the valley as you dine under the stars.
Day 2 • Tarangire Game Drives
Spend the day exploring river loops and woodland tracks. In the dry season wildlife concentrates along the Tarangire River and Silale Swamp. Birding is excellent year round.
Return to the lodge for a relaxed evening and a campfire under a bright southern sky.
Day 3 • Ngorongoro Highlands
Travel to the Ngorongoro highlands, a cool landscape of forests and farms. Walk on the rim trails if time allows and enjoy wide views across the crater. Settle into your lodge and prepare for an early start.
Evenings are crisp at altitude. Warm layers are recommended from June to August.
Day 4 • Ngorongoro Crater
Begin before sunrise for prime wildlife hours on the crater floor. Watch for lions, buffalo, hyena and, with luck, black rhino. Enjoy a picnic by the hippo pool before returning to the rim and onward to the Serengeti.
Arrive at your tented camp in time for sunset over the plains.
Day 5 • Serengeti Full Day
Spend a full day in the Serengeti following predator territories and plains herds. Your guide adapts the plan to match the season, whether it is the south from December to March, central and west from April to June, or the north from July to October.
Return to camp for dinner and an evening around the fire.
Day 6 • Morning Drive and Flight to Arusha
Enjoy a short early drive as the plains come to life, then transfer to the airstrip for your scenic flight back to Arusha. Connect with onward travel or extend to Zanzibar for beach time.
