4-day fly-in safari from Zanzibar to Serengeti (Ngorongoro & Serengeti)
Day 1
Day 1: Zanzibar to Ngorongoro Highlands
Fly in from Zanzibar and transfer by road to the lush Ngorongoro Highlands, where rolling hills, coffee farms, and misty forests create a peaceful setting. Settle into your lodge overlooking the crater rim or hidden among green landscapes, a perfect base for your first night. From here, you’ll enjoy fresh highland air, hearty meals, and a sense of anticipation before descending into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater the following morning
Day 2
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
Begin before sunrise to take advantage of the prime wildlife viewing hours as you descend 600 meters onto the Ngorongoro Crater floor. This natural wonder, often called the Eighth Wonder of the World, is home to a dense concentration of wildlife including lions, elephants, buffalo, and endangered black rhinos. Enjoy a full day game drive with a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, where you can relax and watch pods of hippos wallowing in the water. In the late afternoon, return to your lodge on the crater rim or nearby highlands for dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart the Ngorongoro Highlands and enjoy a scenic drive across the vast plains toward Serengeti National Park. Along the way, you’ll pass Maasai villages, rolling savannah, and wildlife corridors that link the crater to the Serengeti ecosystem. By midday, enter the park and settle into your lodge or tented camp. In the afternoon, head out on a game drive across the open plains, following predator territories and herds of plains game such as zebra, wildebeest, and gazelle. As the sun sets, return to camp for dinner under the stars and an evening around the fire.
Day 4
Day 4: Serengeti and return
Start the day with a short early morning game drive in the Serengeti, the best time to catch predators returning from a night’s hunt and plains game beginning to graze in the golden light. After breakfast at camp, transfer to the nearby airstrip for your scenic flight back to Zanzibar. As you soar above the endless plains, reflect on your unforgettable safari experience before landing on the spice island for the next chapter of your Tanzania journey.
